Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is an unassuming neighborhood located on the West Island, which is an island in Montreal. It is a part of the island that has been called "the West Island." West Island has a lot of communities. People who have never known about it may think it is a separate, west-facing island. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on West Island. But this is not true. Brugel was raised in Courtice close to Oshawa Ontario. The first goal she had was to become an expert dancer. However, a growth rate increased her height and she outgrew all of the dance partners she was able to have. According to an article in the Toronto Star, she revealed her height in heels as 6 feet 1 inches tall. After I surpassed my male counterparts and gave up, I decided to give up. A lot of former dancers go on to acting, and in Brugel's case it was a nudge from the drama instructor at her high school who led her in the right direction. A teacher suggested that she try out for a school play. After trying out the role, she was chosen as the leading lady in Anne of Green Gables. Following her award of the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she enrolled in York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. Since then, Brugel's been performing in over 60 plays, large and small. The most notable was when she landed Rita's role on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel played the role of the character of Rita on The Handmaid's tale which was produced over the course of ten years.
